Itsu’s vision to revolutionize the instant noodle category by offering healthier
alternatives to potnoodle was being stunted by low sales from their crystal noodle range.



  They developed a new recipe for rice noodles with hand-crafted miso broths which they wanted
to have a fresh packaging that helped compete with the bold designs of their competitor brands
whilst paying homage to the previous offering in terms of appearing healthy, light, and Japanese.


Earlier concept sketches took influence from japanese brush paintings, calligraphy and iconography.
With the plan to create a modular design of brushstrokes and colours which varied from sku to sku.

In the end the designs were standardized with the japanese inspirations coming
through in the form of the matte white card we embossed on with a delicate grid pattern.
